last stop of the day: Penguin Parade. went to see the little penguins. photography was not allowed, in case it scares the penguins. boo. managed to meet Hui Ching and Janny there, and we got a good seat right in front. managed to plan roughly the time to meet the next day as well.

could see the penguins coming out from the sea at sunset, waddling back to their little burrows. they were so cute! there was this group of penguins that kept going back into the waters, and we juz kept speculating why they were doing that. like some naughty penguins that went missing, or they were juz too cold and had to go back. then when they came on shore, they will jump on the sand, to let the water drip off. so CUTE!!

couldnt take a photo of them, so had to take a "photo". haha. so cute!!!
the huge variety of dolphin ornaments they had at the souvenir shop.
cant take with penguins, so can only take with the board. haha.
this sign tickled me when I first saw it. how i wished there was a penguin under our car when we drove away. now to think of it, i think I did not check under the car before we drove away. oops.

drove back to Melbourne after that in the dark. took over the wheel the whole journey coz Yimin wasnt really confident about driving in the dark. I was just glad I drove in US and Perth in the dark. had sufficient training, especially in Perth, where it was dark and there was a thunderstorm going on at the same time, when i drove back frm Margaret River to Perth (4 hours of driving like that). phew. so driving from Philips Island back to Melbourne city was much easier.

had dinner at Lygon St. the tom yum soup at the Asian place was really good. then, went back to Jielin's place to rest for the night to prepare for Great Ocean Road the next day.
