finally started work officially yesterday. actually only half a day. before going for more lectures for another half a day. then another half day today. yea. i work on Sat too.
will be at the SGH retail pharmacy for 4 weeks. basically, its a pharmacy that takes care of retail items you can find outside in Unity & Guardian like vitamins, bandages, muscle rubs; but I am actually not stationed outside.
basically, stationed in the pharmacy counter in the retail pharmacy, that takes care of prescriptions from the gynaecology, urology and endoscopy clinics, not forgetting the pharmacy only items. so will be doing packing, some basic dispensing and not forgetting assignments, which I havent been briefed on. which is a little terrible because we did not learn much bout these diseases in NUS. got to read up on it.
think its kinda tiring for a newcomer, because we don't know where the different medications are kept, and there's no column classification like the outpatient side. so i have to screen through the cabinets or what they call rhombic cupboard. and also the supplies inside. so there's a high tendency to make mistakes also. which i did. sianz.
saturday is a busy day because the staff at retail pharmacy is not full strength as they have alternate Sat off. so was really kept on your toes. din even have time to go toilet because whenever I am free, the pharmacist will drag me to the counter, and ask me stuff. if he sees me free la. he's quite nice and funny, but also serious la. which is good. thankfully, rachel, our senior is around there. so she kind of helps at times.
got to make my first 2 interventions today. had to call the doctors to clarify some stuff, which is really quite cool because we really get to do it.
hopefully will have fun at retail and get to do some dispensing soon.
