Chingay 2008 on 15 & 16 Feb 2008

after 3 mths of hard work and training at least twice every week, its finally time for Chingay!

sounds like sth e choreographer will say. hehe.

as mentioned in previous blog entries, I have been participating with my dear jiemeis, huiching and shan shan, in Chingay under Soka. The item was titled "Ocean of Harmony" and we were in the wave group, which comprised of 28 wu fa di dang girls and the unbeatable melissa and shu man as our group trainers!

it was a mad rush for me the first day coz i was rushing my fyp report, and i reported like 3 hrs after the earliest reporting time, but they managed to do my makeup and hair on time. it was much better the second day luckily.

had to perform 7 times from the performance stage in front of Padang, then to connaught drive, then to esplanade drive and then to the back of marina sq. phew. during the preview, we only performed like twice or thrice coz it was a preview, so when we finally did the real 7 times, it was quite hectic. but it was quite fun waving to the audience and interacting with them in btw stops. and giving them hongbaos!

then had dinner with some of the wave girls on the grass patch outside marina sq, before heading down to the street party! the response wasnt overwhelming, probably due to the lack of publicity about the event. but as long as the company was good, accompanied with the good latin music frm the in house latin band frm st james power station, everything becomes good! i guess our whole performance group hyped up the atmosphere there, till people started coming over to dance with us as well. not forgetting the reporters tt came to take pictures.

"Ocean of Harmony!" Awesome! will miss that man.

1st thing of the day : make-up! i tried avoiding it by gg as late as possible to the make-up counter cause i din wan the makeup to crack up my face. oops.

there were some performances by chingay performers before the latin band started playing or the dj started spinning. this was an item brought by the taiwanese. they are practically wearing NOTHING. lol. they muz have been really cool when they ran along the whole stretch during the performance. since they are so exposed. =P
