mount evans

drove up to Mount Evans today.

okay. the professor, Dr Christopher Turner, drove us up. apparently, even though he has stayed in denver for almost 8 years, its his first time driving up there. but he has gone to other peaks of the Rocky Mountains before.

Mount Evans is 14,264 feet high, which is again half of Mt Everest. haha. the other one I went to, Pikes Peak, is 14,110 feet high. so this is higher and is the 14th highest peak among the Rocky Mountains. these 2 peaks are the only peaks that have roads for cars to drive up, which is cool.

the view of the rocky mountains was nicer than pikes peak, i think, even though it was kinda hazy and we couldnt see denver, which was a pity. it was drizzling a little, but stopped when we reached the summit which was lucky. it was cold though, with all the strong winds.

then went to Idaho Springs, this small mining town in Colorado, and its really small. had lunch at this Buffalo restaurant and had buffalo meat loaf. hmm. tastes like beef, just that probably a little bit more tough. maybe its just characteristic of the meat loaf.

gg to Kaisers tmr for work. hope it will be nice. =)
