5th day in texas

well. this has got to be my most frequent blogging experience in the US. i am blogging like everyday! because probably we have free internet access here and I can talk to everybody online if they are online.

went to the Health Museum today because it was free admission from 2 - 5 on Thurs. but we had to pay 2 usd for this extra exhibition on sweets and chocolates, which was actually quite worth it because its quite interesting.

well. for the sweets and chocs exhibition, there were like mountains of sugar stacked together to show the amt of sugar an american takes in a year. there were also experiments like trying to taste something and pressing ur nose at the same time to see if it tastes diff. there was this huge tongue with diff spots and if u step in certain spots, it will tell u which taste it can sense, like sweet or sour. there were unique food from each country.

there were history of chocolates where christine loved, coz she's such a chocolate fan. she took photos of lotsa chocolate quotes. and apparently chocolates are found to be aphrodisiac. not sure if that's the correct spelling, but its apparently supposed to be sex arousing. haha. some others include honey and oysters. cool. oh by the way, honey and sugar are supposed to be good to heal wounds and keep bacteria out too.

the main exhibition was on the body. the 1st thing u step in is the big mouth with the teeth. haha basically its just the whole body, and they categorised according to different parts of the body. i din read everything because we probably learnt most of it in sch. at least for me. haha. learnt some interesting things like which traits are dominant and recessive, and some different kinds of scans like ct scans and gamma scans. at least my pulse rate is normal. haha.

den went to chris's friend's private hospital to take a look. he's having some research internship there because he's taking a medicine degree in the us now. it was a private hospital and there was this really long skybridge linking 2 buildings together. he said it was probably 1 km, so there are shuttles similar to the golf vehicles they use on golf tracks for people to use if they are kinda not so mobile. the outpatient pharmacy was quite cool, though i couldnt take a look at the inpatient ones.

had a super high calorie dinner at the hospital's cafe because it was raining. ya. experience my 1st rainfall in the US. haha though nv noticed how big it was. just started running into shelter when some big raindrops came down. had chicken rice casserole, with mac and cheese and mashed potato. super cheesy. probably gained back the appetite tt i lost for the past 2 wks with bread. haha. coz its RICE u see. 6 usd.

probably gg to another park tmr. wanted to go to the space center but it was kinda out of the way, which was a pity coz there are only like 2 nasa space centers in the US, but i am not exactly interested in space shuttles anw. haha.
