juz went to a pub today known as Andy Mccartney.

it was the 2nd time i have been to a pub here in the US, and the first in Colorado. went there with the rest of the pharmacy interns in the same warfarin clinic as us because the nurses in the hospital recommended this place. apparently, they have this slogan, its better to eat in a bar than drink in a restaurant. haha.

had dinner at home, and cooked hastily but i think i still managed to cook up a decent meal. was in a haste because we were going to go out soon. then had curly fries at the pub. yoohoo. havent had curly fries for ages. its like we saw an a&w branch on our way to the sand dunes, but stupidly, they ran out of root beer and fries. sianz. so happy to eat it here. tastes as nice =) and their soda is free. good for ppl who dont drink, like ME. haha

anw the bar was nice, because they have special programmes every night, and on wed nite, its karaoke! hehe. but their karaoke is those that u need to sing in front of everybody in the bar, with words in front of you of coz. so we sang in one whole big grp. haha. less paiseh. they pronounced karaoke here as ka-reo-ke. was figuring out what they were talking bout b4 i knew.

this bar was different from the one we went to in Houston, where there was a dancefloor and the music was not bad, and of coz, the crowd was different. we went with chris's friend - jason's med friends that were on the same attachment programme as him, and some of them are really great dancers.

i like bars here because its SMOKE-FREE. swee. they can only smoke outside the bar. thats so cool because I won't have to smell smoke, or stink after tt. =)

i was following a medical resident around today, looking at patients. and it was kinda a different feeling especially when the medical resident was seeing his last patient for his residency at the family clinic. i mean, i felt happy for him because he could finally become an attending doctor after so many years of study. medical sch in the US is quite tough, because u gotta go to college for at least 3 yrs, then 4 yrs of med sch, then 3 yrs of residency. woah. sounds long.

for pharmacy sch here, its like after high sch (similar to jc), they go on to college for at least 3 yrs, taking some courses necessary to take pharmacy in grad sch, then go on to grad sch for 4 yrs, where they will then graduate with a Pharm D. degree. i am like only a B.Sc (Pharm) when i graduate.

feel inspired by them at times, because they know so much more than us. and their technology is so much more advanced. most of them have palm tops, where access to drug info is within minutes. cool.

i shld study more about drugs, especially about the dosing. mm. i feel motivated. =)
