1059 s. sweetwater drive
1st blog entry from pueblo, colorado!
drove up to san antonio on sat, actually we din drive. chris's fren took over the wheel and drove for 3 hours each way.
went to the alamo, which was this historical fortress which was supposed to be quite important as it was part of Texas history that made it a state of US and enabled US to get like more land from Mexico.
den spent alot of time on the Riverwalk. oh my. its damn nice. okay its something like clarke quay, with restaurants and shops along the river, but it makes it more homely with their stone footpaths right beside the river. which also means u can fall in anytime. not forgetting the nice footbridges. clarke quay only has one. and the river was quite narrow, not as wide as clarke quay's.
den went to the Mexican market square, where we bought some souvenirs. there were like so many Texan cowboy hats, too bad cant take a picture with it and be a cowboyish girl! haha. den spent time at this starbucks there, which was unique as they had like a cd shop in it. starbucks hear music. so u can get cds there or get tracks there and burn them into a cd where u can choose the design and name, which was quite cool. chris's fren bought a drink and got like some offer for songs, so spent alot of time there.
came over to colorado this morning.
had a plane flight from houston airport to denver, which took us around 2 hrs 30 mins. learnt our lesson not to take greyhound, because up till now, they still havent found my luggage. sucks.
den collected the rented car, a white chevrolet, from this rental company and ventured out on our 1st driving experience in the US! christine and me took turns driving from denver to pueblo, which was an approximate 2 hours ride, though i think we took longer den tt coz we had breaks in btw and we were driving slow sometimes.
basically, everything in US is in the non-metric system. their temperature is given in farenheit and its difficult to change it to degrees celsius. their speed limit is in miles per hr, and i think i drove up to 80 miles per hr, convert it yourself. about 120km/h i supposed. have to drive abit faster, or else i might end up like driving 3 hrs.
met up with the coordinator for the housing and she brought us to the duplex we were going to stay in. there are only 2 of us in this double storey house! there's a kitchen, 3 bedrooms, patio, 2 bathrooms, 1 dining room, not forgetting its own garage! we also have a bathtub and a dishwasher. haha. 1st time in my life i can use a dishwasher. 1st time staying in a duplex too, though its really inconvenient but we r driving anw. a washing machine, dryer with washing powder provided too!
had our 1st home cooked meal after buying some stuff from the supermarket. actually chris did most of the cooking. i only helped her wash dishes and add water. haha. and gave a bit opinion on the rice. lala. nvm i still got 1 mth. haha.
